Certification PEFC e FSC
Cartoedit s.r.l. has set itself the objective of marketing products following an eco-compatible path, in 2015 it received for the first time the FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council) certification, an internationally recognized forest certification system which has as its aim correct forest management and traceability of derived products.
Subsequently in 2020 it also successfully obtained the PEFC certification (Programme for Endorsement of Forest Certification schemes), i.e. the Evaluation Program of forest certification schemes.

Since then it has managed and implemented a chain of custody management system for certified material, ensuring the use of woody raw material that comes from sustainable management from an environmental, social and economic point of view. Principles and values that have never been seen as constraints but as growth opportunities for the entire company structure, in order to respond increasingly and better to the needs of customers attentive to environmental issues.
The FSC® and PEPF certifications certify the origin of the cellulose paper obtained from the transformation of wood coming from sustainably managed forests, to be understood in compliance with forest management regulations that guarantee the management and use of forests in ways that preserve their biodiversity, productivity and capacity for renewal.

Investments in Green Technology
Renewable energy sources, unlike non-renewable energy sources, are forms of energy that respect resources from the natural world. They do not pollute and do not run out, since they have the ability to regenerate at the end of the cycle. In 2020, Cartoedit invested in the installation of a photovoltaic system on the roof of the company’s registered/operational headquarters buildings to promote energy efficiency and the creation of a self-production system of electricity from renewable sources. Subsequently, in 2023 this plant was further expanded in order to further minimize the company’s energy cost.
In 2021 and 2022, 2 packaging presses were purchased to reduce the environmental impact of the storage and treatment and recycling of waste materials such as paper and cellophane.
As regards the trimming, i.e. the waste material produced during the trimming operation (cutting of the sheets to obtain the required format), an automated procedure which takes place during the cutting, binding, staple and double folding machines, to for the recovery of this waste material, the company had already equipped itself with a system of automatic aspirators directly positioned on the machines which bring the material directly into a centrifuge which separates the dust from the paper. The former are “briquetted” or compressed in the form of cylinders intended for composting, thus reducing emissions of fine dust to a minimum and the latter is pressed and automatically placed in the appropriate paper collection container intended for recycling.
In August 2021, a new latest generation air compressor was purchased which is more energy efficient and ecological, which allows up to 78% recovery of the energy produced by it in the form of hot water. The system is also equipped with variable speed frequency converter (VSD) technology which satisfies the air requirement by automatically regulating the motor speed, minimizing the energy expenditure of the production process with energy savings of up to 35%.
It has recently introduced the use of a particular type of LDPE film in cellophane wrapping, i.e. low-density polyethylene composed of a 100% recyclable monomer, more eco-sustainable than other plastic materials, demonstrating its continuous commitment to raising customer awareness final to a more eco-friendly approach also with regards to packaging materials.
